Piano Lessons
Nurturing confidence, artistry and joy at the piano…
Personal attention and guidance support steady progress as the student develops a foundation in piano technique, playing expressively, and in building their confidence as they manage each successive pianistic and musical challenge.
I am flexible in including musical favorites of the student, but my primary focus is on teaching through classical music. I believe it provides the student's mind, body and spirit with the richest technical, historical, and artistic resources.

The best age for a child to begin private lessons is very dependent on the readiness of the child. Just playing around on the piano does not necessarily mean that he or she is ready for the discipline at the lesson and practicing at home. Trying out one or two private lessons often helps to clarify this.

Many adults decide to honor their lifelong desire to play the piano and begin as a rank beginner or want to come back to playing the piano after many years of not touching it. There is no age limit to embarking on this wonderful pasttime, only one's desire and willingness to devote some regular time to it.
Except for unusual circumstances, piano lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis, with vacation weeks built into the schedule. Of course, regular daily
(5 days per week) practice is expected and will yield the most rewarding results.
Students with whom I work best are:
self-motivated
interested in learning about music
wanting to learn to play the piano
able to maintain attention and focus through the entire lesson
willing to practice regularly
curious about learning new things
open to studying classical music
committed to practicing and achieving goals

Don't let difficult times prevent you from pursuing piano lessons. I, myself, was on scholarship for many years of my musical training and am indebted to my teacher for her generosity. I pay it forward by offering a limited number of partial scholarships for students who have financial need.
……………………………Playing the piano is something that nourishes me deeply and has immeasureably enhanced the quality of my life. I look forward to the opportunity of helping you or your child discover this joy for yourselves!
